Account Unlock Configuration

Account Unlock Configuration allows administrators to define how users can securely unlock their accounts if they get locked during login.
Based on configured rules, users can unlock their accounts using email verification and OTP, ensuring both security and ease of access.

Purpose of Account Unlock Configuration​

Account unlock configuration helps to:

  • Define how locked user accounts can be recovered
  • Protect the Store Management Portal from unauthorized access attempts
  • Allow users to securely unlock their own accounts
  • Reduce the need for manual admin intervention
  • Maintain a balance between security and usability

Steps to Configure Account Unlock​

  1. Administrator navigates to Settings → Account Lock Settings.
  2. Open the Lock & Unlock Configuration tab.
  3. Configure the maximum number of allowed failed login attempts.
  4. Enable Account Unlock via Email and OTP.
  5. Review the configuration settings.
  6. Save the configuration to apply the account lock and unlock rules.

Account Unlock Flow for Users​

  1. A user attempts to log in with incorrect credentials multiple times.
  2. The system automatically locks the user account based on configured rules.
  3. An Account Unlock option appears on the login screen.
  4. The user selects the Account Unlock option.
  5. An email containing an OTP is sent to the user’s registered email address.
  6. The user enters the OTP to verify their identity.
  7. The account is successfully unlocked.
  8. The user logs in to the Store Management Portal successfully.

This configuration ensures secure access while giving users a simple way to recover locked accounts.
